Acne

Acne is a common skin condition that affects the pilosebaceous unit (hair follicles and oil glands) of the skin. It primarily occurs during adolescence, although its onset in adulthood is also quite possible.
It is characterized by the formation of open and closed comedones, papules, and pustules. The lesions predominantly appear on the face, chest, and back.
There are many known causes for the development of acne, including genetics, stress, hormonal and age-related changes, and diet. The condition involves the overproduction of sebum, inflammation, and an immune response. If treated incorrectly, acne can lead to scarring and hyperpigmentation. The earlier professional therapy is initiated, the better the expected results. Treatment is tailored individually, taking into account the depth and spread of the lesions, as well as the unique characteristics of each patient's body.
