Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that primarily affects the seborrheic areas of the skin, such as the face (forehead, eyebrows, eyelid margins, retroauricular areas, and nasolabial folds...), the scalp, and the chest. The sebaceous glands in these regions become overactive.

It is a widespread condition with a persistent course that can significantly impact the quality of life. It manifests as reddish patches covered with yellowish-white scales. The condition tends to flare up, especially during the winter and spring months. During these periods, patients often complain of flaking, burning, and itching sensations.

Timely treatment of seborrheic dermatitis helps prevent the progression of the disease and spares the patient from the continuous and ineffective use of various shampoos.
